Europeana are moving ahead with plans for user-generated-content and community collections.<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left\">\n<li>Initially, we will meet their developers to try to &#8216;brain-dump&#8217; as much good practice from <strong><a title=\"The Great War Archive\" href=\"http:\/\/www.oucs.ox.ac.uk\/ww1lit\/gwa\">The Great War Archive<\/a><\/strong> and about the <a title=\"WW1Lit software and documentation\" href=\"http:\/\/www.oucs.ox.ac.uk\/ww1lit\/about\/documentation\">CoCoCo software<\/a> for Europeana work which may be launched for the public to contribute to later in 2010;<\/li>\n<li>We are also working alongside institutions and projects from across Europe (including <a title=\"UK Web Focus\" href=\"http:\/\/ukwebfocus.wordpress.com\/\">UKOLN<\/a>) to write a proposal to Europeana [<a title=\"Call for proposals for Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP) (EC) \u2013 The Information and Communication Technologies Policy Support Programme (ICTPSP) - on user-generated content\/digital stories in Europeana under ICT-PSP\" href=\"http:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/information_society\/activities\/ict_psp\/documents\/ict_psp_wp2010_final.pdf\">PDF<\/a> of the call for proposals] for a digital storytelling project (2011-2012) to include an element of publicly contributed digitised content. Our suggestion is, of course, the First World War 1914-1918, but there are many themes being discussed;\n<ul>\n<li>This could lead on to working in a number of European countries as a test case to build on <a title=\"The Great War Archive\" href=\"http:\/\/www.oucs.ox.ac.uk\/ww1lit\/gwa\"><strong>The Great War Archive<\/strong><\/a>. Oxford&#8217;s goal, which Europeana appear interested in, is to extend The Great War Archive across Europe in time for the 2014 anniversary.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">If you are part of an education or public sector organisation in the EU and are interested in being involved in the user-generated-content proposal for 2011- please email <a title=\"Email RunCoCo project\" href=\"mailto:runcoco@oucs.ox.ac.uk?subject=Contact from blog\">runcoco@oucs.ox.ac.uk<\/a>.
