{"id":750,"date":"2010-09-01T16:23:39","date_gmt":"2010-09-01T15:23:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.oucs.ox.ac.uk\/runcoco\/?p=750"},"modified":"2010-09-02T12:19:29","modified_gmt":"2010-09-02T11:19:29","slug":"update-06-to-08","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs-new.it.ox.ac.uk\/runcoco\/2010\/09\/01\/update-06-to-08\/","title":{"rendered":"Update June-August 2010"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left\">It&#8217;s been a while since we wrote an update for the progress of the project, mainly because of a combination of being too busy and some sick\/holiday leave.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left\">In June-August we  have&#8230;<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Training workshops<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">We ran a free &#8216;engaging with your community&#8217; workshop on <a title=\"free RunCoCo workshop\" href=\"http:\/\/blogs-new.it.ox.ac.uk\/runcoco\/2010\/07\/28\/engaging\/\">Tues 27th July 2010<\/a>, Aberystwyth (<a title=\"To the programme and links to resources page\" href=\"http:\/\/projects.oucs.ox.ac.uk\/runcoco\/events\/27July\/index.html\">programme and links to resources<\/a>). We&#8217;ve also been putting together an exciting programme around the topic of sustainability and business models for community collection projects for our final RunCoCo training event, to be held on November 3 at the University of Leeds. More details about the event will be published on the <a title=\"To the events page\" href=\"http:\/\/projects.oucs.ox.ac.uk\/runcoco\/events\/index.html\">website<\/a> in due course, and registration for delegates will open soon.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><strong>Dissemination<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left\">\n<li>spoke at the <a title=\"Conference: blended-learning 2010\" href=\"http:\/\/www.herts.ac.uk\/about-us\/learning-and-teaching\/learning-teaching-institute\/conferences\/blended-learning-conference-2010\/home.cfm\">International Blended Learning Conference<\/a>, University of Hertfordshire, (<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs-new.it.ox.ac.uk\/runcoco\/2010\/06\/16\/blended-learning\/\">blog post<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li>attended the launch of the <a href=\"http:\/\/johnjohnson.chadwyck.co.uk\/\">John Johnson Collection: An Archive of printed Ephemera<\/a> in the Divinity School, at the Bodleian Library<\/li>\n<li>contributed to discussions on the Google Group (set-up as <a title=\"COmmunity collection Google Group\" href=\"http:\/\/groups.google.com\/group\/runcoco\">a forum for community collection projects to communicate<\/a> online)<\/li>\n<li>posted to this project <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs-new.it.ox.ac.uk\/runcoco\/\">blog<\/a><\/li>\n<li>engaged (via <a title=\"Follow RunCoCo on Twitter\" href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/RunCoCo\">Twitter<\/a>) with national cultural heritage managers, other managers from <a title=\"JISC\" href=\"http:\/\/www.jisc.ac.uk\/whatwedo\/programmes\/digitisation\/econtent.aspx\">the JISC e-Content and digitisation programme<\/a> and experts in digitisation and user-generated content <a title=\"Follow RunCoCo on Twitter\" href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/RunCoCo\"><\/a><\/li>\n<li>answered <a title=\"Email RunCoCo project\" href=\"mailto:runcoco@oucs.ox.ac.uk?subject=Contact from blog\">enquiries<\/a>, in particular from managers now running projects funded from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jisc.ac.uk\/whatwedo\/programmes\/digitisation\/communitycontent.aspx\">JISC Developing Community Content<\/a> call<\/li>\n<li>used <a href=\"http:\/\/delicious.com\/RunCoCo\">Delicious<\/a> to link to interesting material online (you can see the latest links and Twitter conversations in the side margin of this blog)<\/li>\n<li>collaborated in an unsuccessful bid to <a title=\"RunCoCo blog post about Europeana\" href=\"http:\/\/blogs-new.it.ox.ac.uk\/runcoco\/2010\/02\/24\/europeana\/\">Europeana<\/a>, but continue to discuss a number of potential activities in Europe<\/li>\n<li>prepared to speak at a number of events in the UK and on the continent about The Great War Archive and RunCoCo.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><strong>Community Contributed Collection software (CoCoCo)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left\">\n<li>development continues of the open-source <a title=\"RunCoCo  software CoCoCo\" href=\"http:\/\/projects.oucs.ox.ac.uk\/runcoco\/resources\/cococo.html\">CoCoCo software<\/a> which is currently being tested live by the <a title=\"RunCoCo blog post about Project Woruldhord\" href=\"..\/2010\/02\/24\/woruldhord-first-moot\/\">Woruldhord<\/a> exemplar project<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><strong>Exemplar community collection<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Worked with the exemplar project &#8211; <a title=\"RunCoCo blog post about Project Woruldhord\" href=\"http:\/\/blogs-new.it.ox.ac.uk\/runcoco\/2010\/02\/24\/woruldhord-first-moot\/\">Woruldhord<\/a> who launched their community collection on 1 July.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\">Next month we  will&#8230;<\/h3>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left\">\n<li>continue development of the CoCoCo software<\/li>\n<li>continue working with the exemplar project (with Dr Stuart Lee)<\/li>\n<li>submit plans for work in Europe with Europeana<\/li>\n<li>continue writing training documentation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">We use this blog to let you know about our training documentation and workshops, and any other news.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s been a while since we wrote an update for the progress of the project, mainly because of a combination of being too busy and some sick\/holiday leave.
