The project has two intertwined aims: to embed objects more deeply into the learning experience at Oxford by facilitating their use as unique learning resources by staff and students, and to enhance the public visitor experience by using this innovative technology to improve access to objects without altering the highly-valued appearance and atmosphere of the museums.<\/p>\n
<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1304\" class=\"wp-image-1304 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs-new.it.ox.ac.uk\/innovation-challenges\/files\/2018\/10\/DSC_0752-copy-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs-new.it.ox.ac.uk\/innovation-challenges\/files\/2018\/10\/DSC_0752-copy-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs-new.it.ox.ac.uk\/innovation-challenges\/files\/2018\/10\/DSC_0752-copy-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs-new.it.ox.ac.uk\/innovation-challenges\/files\/2018\/10\/DSC_0752-copy-1024x683.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>
Open Cabinet virtually takes museum objects out of their display cases and allows you to engage with the 3D models on your mobile device.
