ABSTRACT<\/strong><\/p>\n

The aim of the VESPa project is to create an online interactive tool to teach skills in sampling techniques. Any student at the University of Oxford will be able to access the platform on a computer or tablet to sample any geographical area, generate datasets, analyse them and compare sampling methods. Using an interactive online tool to accelerate and diversify their sampling skills, students can learn experimentally from any location and at their own pace.
\nOnline technologies have become commonplace in teaching and learning for both university staff and students. Digital education, however, is core for part- time distance learning students who rely on digital resources and activities to study. The VESPa project aims to provide a digital resource that is available to full-time and part-time students alike from a variety of subject areas, and demonstrates how teaching resources can be shared by a diversity of face-to-face and online Oxford students.
\nTogether with Oxford\u2019s IT Services we will develop a digital learning tool which uses existing Google My Maps JavaScript API as a base to import data layers applicable to a variety of subjects across the University such as ecology, zoology and medical sciences. By using Google My Maps, any location can be selected as a sampling area, and the longevity of the project is guaranteed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
