Our remit includes overseeing the day to day support and troublehsooting of most desktop-related issues within UAS and GLAM, for which we provide second and third line support for the services and systems alongside other teams within IT Services. This includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/help.it.ox.ac.uk\/connect\/\">CONNECT managed desktop service<\/a>\n<ul>\n<li>Used by over 2000 staff within the University<\/li>\n<li>Machines in over 75 buildings<\/li>\n<li>Desktop machines replaced at minimum every five years<\/li>\n<li>Over 1000 different applications in use<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Library Public terminals\n<ul>\n<li>Over 500 desktops povisioned for use by by readers within the Bodleian Libraries<\/li>\n<li>Specific kiosk quick refernce terminals<\/li>\n<li>Can be used by over 70,000 readers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Examinations Word Processing Suite\n<ul>\n<li>Used for students to take examinations on where required<\/li>\n<li>Custom machines and configuration specifically designed and built around the eaxmination requirements at Oxford<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Contact the <a href=\"http:\/\/help.it.ox.ac.uk\/help\/request\">Service Desk<\/a> for any queries or support issues.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Desktop Services sit within the Customer Services group in IT Services.
