Highlights include a new version of the Tests tool and more improvements to the Sign-up tool (especially concerning integration with Nexus calendaring) plus the usual collection of general improvements.<\/p>\n<p>For more detailed information and other minor changes, please looked at the <a href=\"https:\/\/weblearn.ox.ac.uk\/access\/content\/public\/System%20notices\/release-notes-upgrade-to-v2p8-ox9p0.html\" target=\"_blank\">detailed release notes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If you would like to suggest further improvements then please do some by contributing to the <a href=\"http:\/\/weblearn.uservoice.com\" target=\"_blank\">WebLearn User Voice feedback service<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Improvement to Tests Tool<\/h2>\n<p>A brand new version of the Tests (Mneme) Tool has been released and offers the following improvements over the previous version:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Question pools are now copied during site duplication<\/li>\n<li>Inform user about duplicate or faulty questions which make an assessment invalid<\/li>\n<li>Many improvements to the UI (user interface)<\/li>\n<li>Add ability to &#8220;shuffle choices&#8221; via test settings<\/li>\n<li>Highlight or show in red when an assessment has 0 points<\/li>\n<li>Add ability to move one or more questions (in bulk) from one part to another<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For more information please see: <a href=\"http:\/\/etudes.org\/mneme\/past-releases.html\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/etudes.org\/mneme\/past-releases.html<\/a>, note that we have moved from v1.2 to v2.1.<\/p>\n<h2>Improvement to Sign-up Tool<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>ICAL (ics) attachments which are sent out when a student signs up for a meeting can now be used with OWA (MS Outlook web access) and Gmail (via web browser)<\/li>\n<li>Better performance on sites with a large number of events<\/li>\n<li>The meeting location drop down list no longer loses values<\/li>\n<li>Two signups with the same name will now generate auto-signup groups with unique names<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>General Improvements<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>IMS Basic LTI has been extended to work with anonymous logins<\/li>\n<li>Graduate Training Tool:\n<ul>\n<li>Module administrators can now confirm individual module components separately<\/li>\n<li>The tree of departments now has less levels\u00a0 of nesting when a department does not contain sub-subunits<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>HTML pages in Resources can be forced to contain an HTML 4 &lt;!DOCTYPE&gt; declaration so that browsers are obliged to render the page in &#8216;standards mode&#8217; (as opposed to &#8216;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.quirksmode.org\/css\/quirksmode.html\" target=\"_blank\">quirks mode<\/a>&#8216;). Please note that in the next major release (at Easter 2014) we hope to add this declaration to all HTML pages if it is not already present<\/li>\n<li>Problems with changing access to a Resource which had been made available to &#8216;All Oxford Users&#8217; has been fixed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WebLearn was upgraded on Monday 13th January 2014 to version 2.8-ox9.
