This release is a bumper edition with a huge amount of improvements in many areas. On this occasion, you may find it more useful to peruse <a href=\"https:\/\/weblearn.ox.ac.uk\/access\/content\/public\/System%20notices\/release-notes-upgrade-to-v2p8-ox8p0.html\">the detailed release notes<\/a> which give a more comprehensive list of improvements.<\/p>\n<p>If you would like to suggest further improvements then please do some by contributing to the <a href=\"http:\/\/weblearn.uservoice.com\" target=\"_blank\">WebLearn User Voice feedback service<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Improvements and New Features<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Brand new version of Sign-up Tool<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>notifications setting have been overhauled with the ability to choose which coordinators receive messages<\/li>\n<li>&#8216;Announce Availability&#8217; is now not ticked by default<\/li>\n<li>&#8216;Default Email Notification&#8217; setting on &#8216;Create Meeting&#8217; page is now not ticked by default<\/li>\n<li>there is now a &#8216;category&#8217; filter on sign-up tool home page<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Updates to Graduate Training (SES) Tool<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>short URL is now displayed on Module Administration page<\/li>\n<li>there is now a Vitae Research Developer Framework view of courses<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Resources<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>allow a file or folder to be made available to &#8216;All Oxford Users&#8217;<\/li>\n<li>there is now a link to the Recycle Bin at the top of the tool (in grey bar)<\/li>\n<li>allow right mouse click in the HTML WYSIWYG editor to display spelling corrections (this does not work in Internet Explorer where one must use ctrl-right-click)<\/li>\n<li>one can no longer zip the root folder<\/li>\n<li>a warning is issued if the file submitted to &#8216;upload new version&#8217; has a different name to the file it is replacing<\/li>\n<li>file browser (&#8216;Browse server&#8217;) now works on Internet Explorer 10<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Assignments<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>there is no longer a default Turnitin repository set<\/li>\n<li>web pages are rewritten so that non-secure blocked content can be seen<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Forums<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>web pages are rewritten so that non-secure blocked content can be seen<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Site Management<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>site redirects can now be hidden from users<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Home Tool<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8216;Options&#8217; page is now the correct size so that the WYSIWYG editor is not truncated (and the Save button is visible)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8216;My Active Sites&#8217; List<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8216;mouse-over text&#8217; will display the target URL to allow disambiguation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Create \/ Duplicate Site<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>one is no longer asked to supply the site title for a second time when creating a site from a template<\/li>\n<li>permissions within hidden folders are now copied when duplicating a site<\/li>\n<li>reading lists are no longer copied when a site is duplicated<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>iPad<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>HTML WYSIWYG editor is now available<\/li>\n<li>wiki pages can now be edited<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Schedule (Calendar)<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>the bug which prevented one from subscribing to Google calendars has now been fixed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Known Issues<\/h2>\n<p>These will all be addressed in the very near future.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Create reading list by searching SOLO does not work in some versions of Internet Explorer<\/li>\n<li>Browse Oxford Podcasts does not work in some versions of Internet Explorer<\/li>\n<li>Some courses are not present in the Vitae Researcher Development Framework view of graduate training courses<\/li>\n<li>&#8216;Modify&#8217; sign-up page still uses old notifications terminology<\/li>\n<li>Some loss of right mouse button functionality in WYSIWYG editor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Other Changes<\/h2>\n<p>We have removed some Secondary tools to reduce complexity. All users of the tools have been contacted and have given consent to their removal.
