{"id":1590,"date":"2012-05-15T17:00:17","date_gmt":"2012-05-15T16:00:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.oucs.ox.ac.uk\/adamweblearn\/?p=1590"},"modified":"2012-05-29T10:50:54","modified_gmt":"2012-05-29T09:50:54","slug":"upgrade-to-weblearn-2-8-ox1-on-29th-may","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs-new.it.ox.ac.uk\/adamweblearn\/2012\/05\/upgrade-to-weblearn-2-8-ox1-on-29th-may\/","title":{"rendered":"Upgrade to WebLearn 2.8-ox1 on 30th May"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;color: #ff0000\"><strong>The upgrade has been moved back one day to 30th May 2012<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>There will be a short period of downtime on Tuesday 30th May between 7am and 9am so that we can perform a major upgrade to WebLearn.<\/p>\n<p>We will be moving to a service based on Sakai 2.8 which offers a number of improvements in key areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Big improvements to Sign-up tool based on user feedback (categories, change organiser, auto create groups, prevent withdrawing when closed, better export (compatible with OXCORT)<\/li>\n<li>Many improvements to the Forums tool (including better user interface (UI), photos of author<\/li>\n<li>Improved webservices interface which can be exploited by Mobile Oxford<\/li>\n<li>New Profile tool with Social networking facilities<\/li>\n<li>New improved Email Sender tool (replaces Mailtool)<\/li>\n<li>Improved wiki UI<\/li>\n<li>Improved tool permissions \u2018widget\u2019<\/li>\n<li>SES tool bug fixes<\/li>\n<li>Site templates facility \u2013 it will be possible to base a new site upon a selection made from a choice of templates each tailored for a specific situation and each containing their own help and guidance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The upgrade has been moved back one day to 30th May 2012 There will be a short period of downtime on Tuesday 30th May between 7am and 9am so that we can perform a major upgrade to WebLearn.
